But is it Art?

I remember hating that book when I read it at uni, but I thought I'd reference it anyway.  It's relevant.  Somewhat.  Not really, actually.

In the magical, sunny-land, (middle-aged and middle-class) fairy-gnome village of Devonport, lies a gallery full of treats and treasures made especially for you.  Really.  The Depot Artspace is an awesome gallery dedicated to providing artists and wanna-bes wall space to exhibit their work to the public.  The glorious Laurel was drunk enough to take my Octolove series and a few other little bits to display and sell in their art & object section for members, Front Room.

Trade Me: where the cool kids lurk

I chose to list items on Trademe under the member name thesteyne because I'm used to using it, it's fairly easy, and people in New Zealand need cool stuff.  It started slowly but has picked up since uploading new items, and I've now got a good idea of what sells online.  There are a few pieces in the Faces of Death Series, the best seller by far is 'Our Lady of Death' cameo set in a large gunmetal locket.  Here are a few pieces currently selling on TM, I hope you like.

Around Halloween I momentarily became obsessed with (instead of the usual interested in) Dia De Los Muertos.  A few pieces came out of this with the help of my awesome flatback sugar skulls, and I feel that many more will arise as I have a TON of Virgin Mary / Mexi / Sugarskull stuff to play with now. Woot.

Helles Pontaaaah!

It has been a good few months since I first started buying bits of resin and brass from online sites, started cutting and glueing, and had to remember how the fark to use polymer clay.  I've had a heap of fun on my Saturday-jewellery-making-days and now have a few pieces I'm almost semi proud of.  The jewellery, so far,  ranges from bright and kitsch, bloody and splatty, to just plain silly.  I hope you like!
